 Who we are

We are an accommodation-based service provider of residential and supported living for adults aged over 18 years who have learning disabilities or autism. Our focus is on supporting and preparing people to live more independently in the community.     


Our aims

Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care and accommodation offering privacy, dignity, fulfilment, rights, choice and independence. At First Choice Care Services we offer safe places to dwell along with support to people wilth learning disabilities who may be experiencing mental health issues, presenting with challengingbehaviours, or may have complex health and social care needs. We are committed to providing sensitive, non-judgemental and none oppressive services. We are committed to multi-agency and multi-professional working to maintaining the health and wellbeing of the people we support.     


Our objectives

1. Reducing the incidence of hospital admissions due to mental ill-health.

2. Reduction in levels of untoward incidence in the community.

3. Reduction in the use of inappropriate accommodation.

4. Promoting programmes of resettlement and enable people to live independently.

5. Promotion of wider choice in housing, support and independence.

6. Promoting social and economic inclusion.

7. Promoting better access to healthcare and reduction in health inequalities.

8. Facilitating better access to both emergency and planned healthcare.

9. Reduction in crisis admission to hospital.

10. Promoting physical and mental well-being.     


How we work

1. Actively support residents to engage with appropriate local services.

2. Provide a safe and supportive environment for service users.

3. Support service users to develop capacity to live independently or independently through a package of community based support.

4. Provide staff support that is commensurate with the needs of the service users.

5. Work in partnership with service users, local authorities, NHS  services,  alcohol treatment services, and community services.     


Eligibility Criteria

1. Diagnosis of a learning disability.

2. Diagnosis ofa learning disability (with / without mental illness).

3. Autism.

4. Complex / challenging needs.
